The Rose in the thicket

There is a rose in a thicket
Beginning to bud
But it’s hid by the thorns
It’s down near the mud
As beautiful as it is
And as radiant it seems
It fears to grow
And reach for its dreams
With a little mud on its petals
The rose is weighed down in despair
This beautiful rose is now feeling hopeless
It’s going to die in its dark thorny lair
Now the rain comes down
The rose stops budding
It’s given up hope
Then the sun shines thru
Illuminating the thicket
With a small little ray warming the petals
The rose lift’s its petals
Discovering it’s now sitting higher
The rain had washed the rose clean
The rose that was in despair
Is now rising above its dark, thorny lair…
